I have the setting set to email me whenever someone posts a comment. It used to work. Now it doesn't. I don't recall changing anything. I get an occasional email but get several comments a day that don't prompt an email to be generated. Would this be a problem with something besides the theme? Any ideas?

Look in Settings->Discussion and also look if your email is correct and the same in other settings like admin profile.
You could also activate default theme and deactivate all plugins to see if is a theme or plugin problem, but I don't think.
You could also try with another email, better one with domain name.
I think it's a server issue, so you could ask to your hosting provider. -
I have fixed this. It was my fault.
